Case Study:
New Brand photography & Video increases small business sales
How understanding a business, their goals & where they want their positioning helps create the perfect library of images & videos to succeed.
When IS Fusion commissioned a new website, the aim wasn't simply to update the design – it was to reposition the business and generate more enquiries and sales.
Recommended by the web designer, I started by meeting with the team to understand far more than the products themselves. We discussed their customers, the industries they serve, where the business was positioned in the market and, most importantly, where they wanted to be.
Their existing photography consisted mainly of stock images and in-house snapshots, so the opportunity was to create a bespoke image library that reflected the precision, innovation and specialist expertise behind the company.
The photography was carefully planned to communicate quality and technical excellence. I photographed their specialist machinery in a clean, clinical style to reinforce the accuracy, consistency and speed of their manufacturing process, while every fuse was photographed with the same consistent approach for use throughout the website and marketing materials.
To make a very small product visually engaging, I created a series of creative images showing the fuses held in gloved hands, giving a sense of scale while reinforcing the company's professional, high-tech approach.
Short videos of each machine in operation added movement and interest to the website and social media, while close-up process photography created a versatile library of background and supporting imagery.
Every image was produced with a purpose, ensuring the business had everything it needed for its website, brochures, LinkedIn, presentations and future marketing.
The impact went far beyond improving the appearance of the website.
Following the launch of the new branding, photography and marketing, IS Fusion secured significant new sales in four countries where they had never previously traded, doubled their sales and attracted more than 7,000 new unique visitors across their website and LinkedIn presence.
For me, this project perfectly demonstrates the value of taking time to understand a business before picking up the camera. My role isn't simply to create attractive photographs; it's to listen, identify what makes a business genuinely different and produce visual content that communicates those strengths, builds trust and helps deliver measurable commercial results.
