Studio Still life of World map made from Fruit and Vegetables was made for an international food packaging trade show stand. This was printed at 3m wide and took about three days to complete.
Quite a complex job as it needed to be shot at a size that the fruit and veg didn't look under or overwhelming and could represent the UK in a scale that wasn't to small.
I researched all parts of the world to discover what types of food were the main exports of regions so international buyers could see it as an accurate representation. The map was then drawn out to the scale that would work and shot in five sections then photoshopped together. North America, South America, Africa, Europe & Russia and Australasia. Each section was in reality about 5-8ft to be able to shoot at high quality and in the space available to create the work.
Became a talking point and centrepiece for the Trade show.
All the usable fruit and veg that was left at the end was donated to a homeless charity kitchen, about 20 boxes.
